My Experience
Over the years, I have gained clinical experience in a few settings – a community health centre, residential addictions treatment and a walk-in counselling clinic where I have provided individual and group treatment for addictive behaviours, anxiety, BPD, depression, insomnia and trauma.
Although trained in a number of different approaches to therapy, I value the potency and efficacy of evidence-based approaches of CBT, DBT and mindfulness.
Since 2010, I have been immersed in DBT, offering skills groups and providing individual sessions. The simultaneous embrace of acceptance and change foundational to DBT has greatly influenced my work. I have extensive training in CBT-I including a 1year fellowship at the Ryerson Sleep and Depression Lab.
My background in mindfulness involves certification in MBRP in addition to my own meditation practice. I have facilitated mindfulness in the context of treatment for addictions, chronic pain and emotional disregulation problems.
